Mini-project - Taking my sisters TV apart

Some how, between my Mum and Sister, they managed to jam a DVD into the slot loading DVD player/TV Combo in my Sister's room while she was home for the best part of a week.  Something is wrong with the mechanism that ejects the DVD and while I managed to retrieve the disk and the mechanism worked while the TV was in pieces it doesn't seem to want to work once it's back in one piece even though I took it apart a couple of times I fear it's going to take a lot more investigation and thus I have put it back together to be looked at further when I have more time.

At the moment my third year university project is my only concern. I may have some little things that appear on here from time to time but don't expect me to design any nano-bots or lighting solutions that have over 100% efficiency any time soon!*
