Garforth Arts Festival LogoI worked on both the 2007 and 2008 Garforth Arts Festivals as their resident Sound Engineer and am already partially involved in the preparation for the 2009 festival.

The Garforth Arts Festival is described as being a "very ambitious community festival, with a very strong emphasis on educational projects." and is also "designed to bring local school children, community arts groups, local businesses, visiting professional artists and the wider community together, in a celebration of the arts."

The first festival was held in the summer of 2005 and has since grown and gone from strength to strength. During my work at the festival I have been involved with events that have commanded performances from prestigious acts such as Richard Hawley, Courtney Pine, Soweto Kinch, Eliza Carthy, Kate Rusby, 3 Daft Monkeys, the James Taylor Quartet, Jazz Jamaica, Tony Benn, Gervase Phinn, The Ian McMillan Orchestra, Harvie S and a whole lot more!

Engineering for festival events has pulled on all my prior experience and involved me engineering a wide spread of live events ranging from musical theatre and public address for speakers - such as Tony Benn and Gervase Phinn - through to live music from a range of difference genres including Jazz, Blues, Rock and Folk.

GCAS LogoI am currently employed by the Garforth Community Arts School (GCAS), which is based at the Garforth Community College, as their resident Sound Engineer.  I first worked for them late in 2006 and since then have been involved in a string of events and educational projects.

Working for GCAS came about from working for one of the GCAS groups, the Garforth Jazz Rock Band. My involvement in GCAS in turn resulted in me becoming employed by the Garforth Arts Festival.
