I haven't been involved with a performance at the Leeds University Union, as a member of the Backstage Society, for over a year. Even if you take a look at what I got involved in during my first year I never held a rank higher than follow spot operator or monitor engineer (for one band) at any of the grand total of three events that I worked on. 

Now in my third year I have signed up to the society once more and am keen to take advantage of the events that I can work on to make new friends. With a shout going out for crew, including a sound engineer, for a one night event on this Thursday I ceased my chance and put my name forward, thinking I might get a generic role given that none of the Backstage guys know me but with the crew sheet returning to my e-mail inbox I have got the post of show Sound Engineer. Like I said that is unexpected but I'm looking forward to the challenge!

I'm also looking forward to the after show curry!
